Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-efficiency power electronics systems, including inverters and DC-DC converters.
  • Select and specify power MOSFETs, IGBTs, and drivers for various applications.
  • Perform detailed simulations using industry-standard tools to validate designs and predict performance.
  • Design and optimize magnetic components such as transformers and inductors.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in implementing control algorithms for power electronics applications.
  • Conduct testing and debugging of power electronics systems to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and mechanical engineers to integrate power electronics solutions.
  • Lead and mentor external junior engineers and external vendors providing engineering services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of hands-on professional experience in power electronics design and engineering.
  • Proven expertise in inverter design and DC-DC converter topologies.
  • Extensive experience with power MOSFETs, IGBTs, and associated driver circuits.
  • Proficient in simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of magnetic component design, including transformers and inductors.
  • Demonstrated ability to design for high efficiency, reliability, and thermal management.
  • Experience with PCB layout and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in power electronics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

This role is in Fremont, CA. Remote candidates will also be considered.
